Phi 1.5.0

Version 1.5.0Build 601

Phi Browser 1.5 is here, and this one spends a surprising amount of time making the invisible bits smarter. Very glamorous, obviously. The kind of work nobody notices until everything feels better. But that is also the point: we are trying to put a little human soul back into everyday software, so it understands what you mean, respects what you are doing, and does not emotionally manipulate you just because some dashboard told it to.

We have added a lot of behind-the-scenes optimizations for Sentinel, our AI layer that quietly does the heavy lifting while everyone else stares at tabs and pretends this is productivity. The notable bit: Phi now supports Apple Foundation Models, so yes, we did watch WWDC like responsible adults trapped in the Apple ecosystem. This opens the door to completely offline AI actions, where supported, with more coming soon.

The New Tab Page also gets more useful. Widgets and artifacts have landed, which means you can now create your own widget simply by talking to your agent. Describe what you want, let Phi build it, and enjoy the minor miracle of not opening another settings panel designed by someone who hates sunlight. We also cleaned up a few New Tab Page issues, because you probably stare at that page many times a day and it deserves to look less like a work-in-progress confession.

Tab Groups and Split View got some ironing too. Fewer wrinkles, fewer sharp edges, smoother behavior. They now feel less like a clever prototype and more like something you can actually live with, which is apparently the bar now and yet here we are.

Feedback is welcome, as always. Preferably useful feedback, but this is the internet, so we will take what civilization has left to offer.
