Phi 1.6.0
Phi Browser 1.6 is here, and the headline is the new Widget Library on the New Tab Page.
You can now add and create widgets right from the NTP, making your start page more useful, more personal, and less like a blank waiting room with a search box. Try it out, make a few widgets, break your own expectations a little. That is healthier than opening twelve more tabs and calling it productivity.
Search has improved, with one unified flow across tabs, bookmarks, and pinned tabs. Split View now works better with bookmarks. You can save Split View using the native bookmark shortcut, and adding Split View to bookmarks behaves more like copying a normal tab. There is also a native shortcut for starting a new conversation, better formatting for imported ChatGPT content, and a safer upgrade path for older installs.
We polished the Widget Library experience, cleaned up the @ tab menu theme behavior, and fixed a handful of browsing reliability issues around history, tab menus, window handling, bookmarks, pinned tabs, and favicon flicker.
Phi Browser 1.6 is a practical release: a better New Tab Page, smarter organization, cleaner search, and fewer tiny browser annoyances trying to ruin your afternoon.
