Phi 2.9.0

Version 2.9.0Build 807

Phi Browser 2.9 is here, and moving in from the neighbors is considerably less annoying now. We now support full browser migration from Arc and Zen, whose sidebar-first setups map rather naturally to Phi. Migration is deliberately different from import: instead of manually choosing bits and pieces to bring over, it moves your browser setup across as a whole, including profiles, Spaces, and browsing data. Less packing boxes, more moving house.

Incognito Spaces also get a customizable keyboard shortcut, bookmarks and pinned tabs can automatically open in Peek when you want them to, and tab states are much clearer, including unloaded, pinned, sidebar chat, and Agent-controlled tabs. Tiny indicators, disproportionately useful when you have 47 tabs open and no recollection of why.

Agents had some housekeeping too. Connections recover more reliably when interrupted, background Agent windows are muted by default, and the little bits of Agent UI left behind after a task finishes now actually leave. "Ask Phi about..." is more reliable when working with selected content, while Video Gist has learned not to enthusiastically launch itself just because a page happens to contain an embedded video.

Elsewhere, muted tabs stay muted after navigation or refresh, Kiosk behaves properly when the main Phi window is fullscreen and now shows the current URL in its address bar, and we fixed a collection of Space management, migration localization, narrow-sidebar, and dark-mode glitches.

A fairly practical release, then. Easier to move in, easier to tell what your tabs are doing, and slightly less chance of your Agent leaving the lights on after it goes home.
